We want to train apprentices
Three trades that are practised here — and in which we would also like to train apprentices in future. We have no vacancies advertised at the moment. We will still look at speculative applications.
Three trades, one house
Here the seal is created entirely in our own plant — from the turned support body through the design to despatch. Anyone learning here sees the whole chain, not a slice of it.
Cutting machine operator (Zerspanungsmechaniker:in)
3.5 years · German Chamber of Commerce · turning or milling specialismYou make the support bodies on which our seals sit — turned from gunmetal, stainless steel, aluminium or plastic, often in a batch of one and with annular gaps in the hundredths range. CNC programming is part of it from the start, and so is measuring: here a tenth of a millimetre decides whether a seal holds 15 or 150 bar.
Technical product designer (Technische:r Produktdesigner:in)
3.5 years · German Chamber of Commerce · machine and plant design specialismThe trade that used to be called technical draughtsman. You design in 3D CAD and derive drawings from it — for seals that do not yet exist. Installation situation in, finished seal design out: that is our daily business, and you are in the middle of it rather than at the end of the chain.
Office management clerk (Kaufmann/-frau für Büromanagement)
3 years · German Chamber of Commerce · formerly Bürokaufmann/-frauQuotations, orders, purchasing, despatch to more than 20 countries. Because we are a small house you see the whole process — from enquiry to invoice — and not just a slice of it.
Interested in one of these trades? Do get in touch now — even if you are still a year away from finishing school. A work placement can almost always be arranged.
What makes this company what it is
- Production, design, quality and despatch under one roof — not a single outsourced step.
- Batch size from one piece. Nobody here makes the same part all day.
- Certified to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, audited by DEKRA.
- Short distances: with 28 people you know everyone’s name, the managing director’s included.
VR Dichtungen has been around since 1988. We are 28 people in Übach-Palenberg and we make radial shaft seals you cannot buy off the shelf — for food machinery, medical technology, ships, subsea robotics and motorsport.
What that means for the work: there is rarely one single operation you repeat a thousand times. Almost every order has a quirk you have to think about.
Even without a vacancy
We only advertise when we really are looking for someone — which is why there is no vacancy here at the moment. That does not mean an application is not worth making: someone who fits usually finds a place, even if it is later.
Send us what you have. A covering letter explaining why sealing technology of all things means more to us than a perfectly formatted CV.
What should be in the email
- Which trade or area you are interested in
- A CV and, if you have them, your last two school reports
- When you could start
How we handle application documents and when we delete them is set out in our Privacy policy.
